About the role

Dispensing Technicians are responsible for tracking, staging, and dispensing chemicals used in the production of our products. You will monitor inventory transactions, maintain documentation, unload tank trucks of raw materials and finished goods, and transport materials to and from storage and designated work areas. The purpose of this role is to ensure all raw materials are transferred and/or dispensed in the correct amount at the correct time in accordance with established operating procedures, while complying with GOJO safety goals, policies, and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, stage, and deliver batch kits (work order required materials).
  • Dispense chemical raw materials per established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Transfer chemicals from original containers to appropriately selected secondary containers.
  • Weigh, unload, and process tankers according to established standard operating procedures.
  • Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) tool systems to accomplish daily work assignments and tasks per cGMP and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Move material in and out of storage and receiving areas in the chemical warehouse using the FIFO (First in/First out) method and safely transport chemicals throughout the facility.
  • Prevent contamination of raw material chemicals through proper selection of clean and sanitized utensils, containers, proper closure, transport, and segregation of materials, and through continuous attention to cleanliness and housekeeping.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation and data entry for all material movements and shift activity.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining “controlled environment” parameters by following all established procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform “general and controlled” environmental housekeeping duties per SOPs.
  • Assist in the identification and communication of scrap or expired chemicals.
  • Review daily dispensing needs with Dispensing Team Leader and process teams.
  • Follow all established SOPs and WIS (work instruction sheets).
  • Use proper PPE (personal protective equipment) as required by chemical hazards and/or tasks.
  • Operate PIT (powered industrial truck/equipment) in accordance with established procedures and training.
  • Respond to “out of specification” situations and initiate action to minimize business risk.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow all safety procedures.
  • Ensure hazardous wastes are transferred into designated containers located near the point of generation and that containers are properly labeled.
  • Assist in spill control and cleanup as required (no hazardous spills included).
  • Continuously evaluate the dispensing process for process improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with orientation and training of new employees.
  • Support material requests from QC (Quality Control) and R&D (Research & Development) groups.
  • Assist QC with chemical material sampling.
  • Assist other dispensing technicians as needed.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor when necessary.
  • Familiarize with emergency procedures and equipment necessary to safely and effectively respond to emergencies involving hazardous waste.
  • Ensure hazardous wastes, universal wastes, and used oil are placed in the appropriate container that is properly labeled, in good condition, and closed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ work experience in a chemical warehouse environment.
  • Previous powered industrial equipment experience.
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime.
  • Some college/post-secondary technical education with coursework in chemistry is preferred.
  • Chemical handling experience.

This is a direct manufacturing/distribution role, 100% on-site. Travel between campus locations in Northeast Ohio may be required as needed.

Pay

The starting pay rate for this role is $21.31 per hour. All GOJO team members are bonus eligible.
