About the role

The Dispensing Pharmacist is a registered Pharmacist responsible for accurately and timely dispensing prescribed medication to patients. Work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preparation of prescriptions via a highly automated system
  • Check for completeness and accuracy of all new and refill labels and orders
  • Check for content and accuracy of all drug packaging and labeling
  • Interact with fellow health care team members
  • Assure compliance with legal requirements within the pharmacy
  • Process and check for completeness and accuracy of all new and refill Braille and Talking Vial orders
  • Research medication issues
  • Perform duties in the 3-core areas (Puck verification, TOTE verification, and Bulk Up)
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Licensed as a PHARMACIST in state(s) of practice
  • Ability to participate in Federal prescription programs
  • Self-directed, but able to work well in a group
  • Ability to solve problems and encourage others in collaborative problem solving
  • Strong communication skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a high level of energy
  • Focused, accurate, and highly productive work ethic
  • Proficient with computers

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience in a high-volume community or mail order pharmacy practice environment

Pay

$104,000 - $143,000 per year

Schedule

Hours of operation for distribution are 5:30am to 6:30pm. The schedule for position will be: 5:30am-4:00pm (4/10s). Occasional overtime may be required including Saturdays and Sundays. This is an ON-SITE role. Non-patient facing role.
