About the role
The Dispensing Pharmacist is a registered Pharmacist responsible for accurately and timely dispensing prescribed medication to patients. Work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the preparation of prescriptions via a highly automated system
- Check for completeness and accuracy of all new and refill labels and orders
- Check for content and accuracy of all drug packaging and labeling
- Interact with fellow health care team members
- Assure compliance with legal requirements within the pharmacy
- Process and check for completeness and accuracy of all new and refill Braille and Talking Vial orders
- Research medication issues
- Perform duties in the 3-core areas (Puck verification, TOTE verification, and Bulk Up)
- Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
- Licensed as a PHARMACIST in state(s) of practice
- Ability to participate in Federal prescription programs
- Self-directed, but able to work well in a group
- Ability to solve problems and encourage others in collaborative problem solving
- Strong communication skills
- Great attention to detail
- A positive, proactive attitude with a high level of energy
- Focused, accurate, and highly productive work ethic
- Proficient with computers

- 3+ years' experience in a high-volume community or mail order pharmacy practice environment

$104,000 - $143,000 per year
Schedule
Hours of operation for distribution are 5:30am to 6:30pm. The schedule for position will be: 5:30am-4:00pm (4/10s). Occasional overtime may be required including Saturdays and Sundays. This is an ON-SITE role. Non-patient facing role.
