About the role
The Dispensary Agent is responsible for interacting with, educating, and advising patients in person and by phone, maintaining records, assisting with inventory and cash management, and collaborating with local service providers. The role includes cross-training in order fulfillment activities such as preparing orders, entering product information, and admitting patients.
Responsibilities
- Greets members in person or on the phone; schedules appointments; oversees member intake and renewal procedures
- Maintains member records in compliance with state law and company policy
- Answers questions about the law and company policies from members and others
- Assists members in selecting medicine; educates them on safe dosage and usage
- Supports the Dispensary Manager with inventory and cash management, including daily and weekly tasks
- Maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment inside and outside the facility
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Dispensary Manager
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years’ experience in a fast-paced, client-service-intensive industry (hospitality or retail preferred)
- Proficiency in computer and equipment operations for office/retail (POS systems, Word, Excel, copiers, telephone systems)
- Familiarity with medical marijuana history and varieties (preferred but not required)
- Outstanding phone and in-person customer service skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain composed under stress
- Demonstrated proactivity, flexibility, adaptability, and multitasking
- Skill in accurate cash management and inventory control
- Strong written and oral interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and focus with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Work Environment and Physical Demands
The role operates in a manufacturing environment requiring extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching. The ability to carry up to 50 lbs for distances up to 100 ft may be required. Occasional extended and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate small objects is necessary. The environment may be humid and pollinated.
