Position Type

The Central Sterilization Technician plays a vital role in supporting clinical operations by ensuring all dental instruments, equipment, and materials are properly sterilized, cleaned, and prepared for use. This position is responsible for effectively managing the cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing of dental instruments to maintain optimal infection control standards. The technician will work closely with students, faculty, and staff to ensure the timely delivery of sterile instruments and supplies. This position may require a flexible schedule, including weekends or evenings, depending on clinic needs.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

• Regular physical activity, including pushing and pulling carts with instruments and supplies, with a weight limit not exceeding 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods.
• Frequent bending, reaching (including overhead, extensive, and repetitive movements).
• Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to write legibly.

Required Skills

• Must have a High School Diploma or a GED and a minimum of 12 months experience.
• Must have CRCST Certification or ability to obtain within one year.
• Monday - Friday; 11:00am - 7:30PM; 40 hrs a week
• Includes a rotating Saturday schedule and occasional Sunday Schedule for the CDCA exams.

Pay

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Schedule

This position may require a flexible schedule, including weekends or evenings, depending on clinic needs.
