Dispatcher (NIGHT)

About the role

We are hiring a Dispatcher Supervisor/Lead in Star, MS to support route assignments, ensure a balanced partnership with our production team, and foster safe, efficient logistics operations.

Responsibilities

• Guide driver training for DOT compliance, regulations, company rules, and internal processes.
• Update customers regularly on delivery statuses and assist with providing tenders.
• Coverage of driver routes, destinations, vehicle assignments, and timelines for transporting freight.
• Collaborate with and support drivers while updating necessary information electronically.
• Provide ongoing support, guidance, and assistance to drivers as needed.
• Determine driver routes, destinations, vehicle assignments, and timelines for transporting freight.
• Coordinate regular truck maintenance and service needs with the shop team.
• Maintain Hours of Service and provide active oversight and stewardship of freight loading to ensure safety processes are met.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in transportation management software and other related programs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transportation dispatching or a related field.
• Forklift experience or a willingness to gain experience (explicitly stated as a "must-have").

Skills

• Proficiency in transportation management software and other related programs.
