Responsibilities

• Dispatch drivers to maintain service levels for on-time local and out-of-state deliveries.
• Ensure drivers adhere to Hours-of-Service (HOS) regulations.
• Notify customers of arrival schedules.
• Prioritize tasks under pressure in the best interest of the company, customers, and drivers.
• Conduct daily dispatching and weekly scheduling of local and linehaul drivers.
• Determine the best delivery methods and negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers.
• Manage breakdown situations on the road and coordinate equipment repair with the maintenance shop to reduce mechanical failures and delays.
• Complete necessary paperwork and data entry accurately and in a timely manner to ensure an efficient flow of information.
• Coordinate third-party carriers to move overflow loads in a cost-efficient way.
• Develop strong relationships with customers and drivers to reduce stress from last-minute schedule changes.
• Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret general business documents.
• Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence.
• Ability to work with peers and communicate basic concepts.
• Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions that require limited judgment.
• Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve routine problems.
• Basic knowledge of DOT and HOS rules and regulations.

Pay

$22.00–$27.00 per hour
