Dispatcher - Houston Terminal

Purpose of Position

The Dispatcher position at Gulf Winds International, Inc. is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient service to both independent contractors and employee drivers. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring Independent Contractor satisfaction by facilitating load distribution.
• Achieving driver retention and growth goals by ensuring driver success while maintaining strong relationships with independent contractors and employee drivers.
• Working closely with critical departments such as Safety, Driver Recruitment, Customer Service, and Sales to best serve drivers and internal and external customers.
• Promoting a culture of Operational Excellence focused on safety and quality.
• Executing daily workload while ensuring customer requirements are met to achieve World Class service.
• Tracking and managing all Gulf Winds equipment to ensure proper utilization.
• Cross-training to cover workload distribution when the Terminal Manager is out.
• Openly communicating challenges and opportunities along with creative solutions to overcome them.
• Managing cost with a focus on increasing profitability of the terminal and minimizing costs to customers.
• Ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness of the facility, as well as stocking it with the correct supplies and materials.
• Managing quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support company goals.

Requirements

• Problem resolution skills.
• Computer skills (Internet and Prism Software preferred).
• Computer literacy with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Logistics and Intermodal experience preferred.
• Previous Transportation experience preferred.
