Dispatcher/Administrative Assistant
Responsibilities
- Cooking and ticketing inbound/outbound trucks
- Preparing shipping documents
- Accepting payment
- Basic typing and word processing
- Answering calls
- Customer relations
- Assisting with dispatch
Requirements
- Cooking for company drivers and external trucking partners to ensure timely, accurate shipments
- A Scale Operator is required for operating the weigh scales and maintaining the shipping, receiving, and related production records
- Reviewing for accuracy and processing receiving of Raw Material
- Preparing delivery tickets and related shipping documents
- Checking and reviewing all orders assigned before they are shipped against delivery tickets
- Working closely with truck drivers to ensure delivery date/times are accurate, DOT compliance with load weight and securing loads are met
- Planning effective delivery routes and assigning drivers for scheduled deliveries
- Working closely with customer service to understand the product availability and logistic issues of specific projects
- The position requires accurate record keeping of each truck entering/leaving the site as well as the weight of all materials entering/leaving the site
- The position uses computers, spreadsheets and databases
- Strong information storage and filing skills are required
- Sometimes includes analyzing data and making various computations
- Familiarity with scale operation and shipping is an asset
- The successful candidate will have a proven safety record as well as a history of being a team player
- They must be able to work without direct supervision
- Shift work and overtime will be required
- Answering incoming phone calls
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience in related function
- Minimum one to three years of related experience
- Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Maintaining mathematical and communication skills
Skills
- May require occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Walking and standing for long periods of time
- Ability to climb flights of stairs throughout the day
Pay
- The hourly pay range is $20-21/hr
