About the role
The Dispatcher serves as the operational heartbeat of TLC Solutions. You will dispatch and operate transportation requests, communicate with drivers, collaborate with hospitals and healthcare facilities, assist patients and families, and ensure transportation services run efficiently and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch & Operations Coordination
- Schedule, assign, and coordinate transportation requests
- Dispatch drivers efficiently based on location, availability, and urgency
- Maintain transportation schedules throughout the day
- Communicate route updates and schedule changes
- Track transportation status and ensure timely service delivery
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and operational issues in real time
- Healthcare & Client Communication
- Communicate directly with hospitals, nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, assisted living communities, and medical offices
- Cook up transportation arrangements with case managers, nurses, discharge planners, and healthcare staff
- Serve as a professional point of contact for patients and family members
- Provide updates regarding transportation schedules and service status
- Aid individuals who may be experiencing stressful or emotional healthcare situations
- Customer Service & Patient Support
- Deliver exceptional customer service on every interaction
- Demonstrate professionalism, patience, empathy, and strong bedside manner over the phone
- Listen carefully and respond appropriately to customer concerns
- Help families navigate transportation-related questions and challenges
- Create a positive experience during important healthcare transitions
- Administrative Responsibilities
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
- Document transportation requests and customer information
- Update scheduling systems and operational databases
- Maintain communication logs and service documentation
- Aid with administrative and operational support tasks as needed
Requirements
- Minimum one year of customer service, call center, dispatch, scheduling, or phone-based support experience
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong English-speaking and phone communication abilities
- Professional demeanor with outstanding customer service skills
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
- Comfortable working with multiple systems and software platforms
- Accurate data entry and computer skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience in dispatching, transportation coordination, non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT), medical scheduling, healthcare administration, call center operations, patient services, or medical office support
- Patient services leadership
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Background check and drug screening required
