Dispatch Supervisor

About the role

Get Fresh Produce has been in business since 1982, providing fresh produce and other products to restaurants and other end users in the Chicago area. We are currently accepting applications for a Dispatch Supervisor to work at our Whitestown, IN location.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently and accurately stage trailers for loading and transport while ensuring proper temperature control
• Follow safety protocols including, performing safety checks to secure fleet
• Review route efficiency by utilizing PPRO and Samsara reports to identify opportunities
• Manage drivers HOS
• Collaborate with warehouse personnel using safety control system to remove equipment from one location to another, according to door assignments
• Work with Operations Manager to ensure proper equipment is used for routes, and that repairs, if any, are completed before using the equipment
• Accurately dispatch drivers from the distribution facility with the equipment they need to service the customer (i.e. Keys, tablets, fuel cards, curb ramps, two-wheeler)
• May be required to reload trailers, rescue driver or recover deliveries
• Handle and understand billing/shipping paperwork and check in/out processes
• Track and report driver attendance issues
• Hold meetings, perform accident/incident investigations, deliver discipline

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• At least 2+ years of experience in transportation
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Produce Pro ERP software a plus
• Knowledge of driver safety and DOT compliance requirements
• Transportation or Warehouse experience in the Food industry a plus
• Leadership skills with focus on morale and team motivation
• Must pass pre-hire drug screen and physical
• Must be able to read, speak, write and understand English, bilingual a plus
• Commercial Driver License (CDL)
• Able to efficiently with computer-based dispatch programs, Outlook email, and Excel spreadsheets
• Familiar with operation of unloading equipment (i.e.: liftgates, ramps, 2-wheel hand-carts)

Pay

$30.00 per hour

Schedule

5-day work week Sunday to Friday with Saturday and a day off during the week 40 + Hours Start time of 6:00 pm or until work is completed Mandatory Holiday shifts

This is an in-person position in Whitestown, IN
