Dismantle Technician

About the role

Average of 1-2 years of experience, training, and demonstrated performance in mechanical maintenance (aircraft, automotive, or related).

Thorough working knowledge of ATA chapters and codes.

Experience reading and interpreting aircraft maintenance manuals.

Experience or certification in an aviation maintenance field.

Familiarity with Slack, Quantum ERP, and ADP Workforce Management HRM system.

Great relationships with vendors already in place.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dismantle operations on commercial aircraft such as 757, 767, 777, and others to remove components, subassemblies, and assemblies.
  • Clean removed parts as needed to ensure proper identification.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and instructions.
  • Limited inspection and evaluation of specified components to assist with parts identification.
  • Complete all required paperwork for removed components.
  • Work with appropriate heavy equipment (forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, etc) to facilitate dismantlement operations.
  • Assist with movement of aircraft on the property.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high-energy personality and desire to learn quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • An ability to remember and follow detailed instructions, but work independently.
  • A love of mechanical systems and some experience working with mechanical tools professionally or as a hobby.
  • A top-notch work ethic.
  • A thorough proficiency, both verbal and written, with the English language.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A thorough working knowledge of ATA chapters and codes.
  • A familiarity with Slack, Quantum ERP, and ADP Workforce Management HRM system.
  • A great relationship with vendors already in place.

Qualifications

  • Physical demands include exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and 10-25 pounds of force frequently, as well as lifting and carrying heavy objects utilizing safe lifting techniques.
  • The noise level is highly variable, as work may be performed in a variety of environments.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical systems knowledge.
  • Proficiency with mechanical tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions.
  • Experience with aircraft maintenance manuals.
  • Experience or certification in an aviation maintenance field.
  • Familiarity with technology and social media.
