About the role

Dishwasher/Stewards are a key part of the kitchen, responsible for working in kitchen areas using large dish machines, manually washing pots, pans, stocking clean dishes, glassware, and silverware. This role involves heavy lifting, working with chemicals, emptying trash cans, and mopping. Stewards may work indoors or outdoors but primarily in backstage kitchen areas.

Responsibilities

  • Operate large dish machines; loading and unloading dishware, glassware, and silverware
  • Scrape plates, utensils, and other dishware used in restaurants prior to loading in dishwashing machines
  • Manually scrub large pots and pans at a pot sink
  • Sort pots, pans, dishes, glassware, flatware, and utensils and restock into designated locations for restaurant use
  • Monitor water cleanliness in the pot sink and in the dish machines
  • Hand polish items such as silverware and flatware
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area by sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing kitchen floors, coolers, and freezers, and washing and replacing all trash cans
  • Clean kitchen counters, walls, cooling, storage, and trash areas
  • Perform deep cleaning according to schedule or as needed
  • Responsible for emptying trash and recyclables appropriately
  • Follow proper sanitation and HACCP procedures
  • Ensure chemical storage areas are neat and orderly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of back dock area, which may include pressure washing
  • Late shift focused on thorough deep cleaning of all kitchen areas

Requirements

  • You must be at least 18 years of age
  • Able to do heavy lifting of pots/pans and trays, up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to push/pull heavy carts
  • Able to work in areas with loud noises and confined spaces
  • Understanding of principles of proper sanitation
  • Strong listening skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Full availability for any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some knowledge/experience working with large kitchen equipment
  • Previous restaurant experience; understanding of full-service environment
  • Previous experience working in a hospitality or tourism-related role
  • Bilingual preferred

Pay

$22.00 per hour

Schedule

Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Some shifts may start as early as 6:00 AM or end as late as 12:00 AM. The principles of seniority are used to schedule all roles.
