Dishwasher/Prep Cook (Part Time)

About the role

The dishwasher plays an imperative role in the kitchen, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machines and manual cleaning methods. This position also maintains the dishwashing area as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility. Dishwashers should be energetic, upbeat, and have a positive attitude while working at the Buffalo Sabres.

Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen and wait staff to ensure the highest quality of service is delivered to players and staff.
• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, tableware, pots, and/or pans.
• Perform light food prep as part of the role.
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
• Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
• Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Ensure kitchen floors are clear of clutter and remain clean and dry.
• Stock serving stations or dining areas with food or supplies.
• Other duties as assigned, including assisting kitchen staff with food preparation.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 1-2 years of restaurant experience.
• Knowledge of restaurant procedures and processes.

• Ability to remain calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
• High level of organization and a sense of urgency.
• Positive, high-energy, and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests and co-workers.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk continually throughout the duration of a shift.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.

Pay

This role pays between $17.50 - $19.00 an hour. Wages will be determined based on factors such as candidate experience, qualifications, skill set, and internal equity.
