Dishwasher (Porter) - Soho House Portland

About the role

A Dishwasher (Porter) supports the overall kitchen operation by organizing and cleaning dishes such as pots, pans, silverware, dishware, glassware, and kitchen equipment. Porters maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen, ensure dishes are stored correctly, and proactively complete tasks like discarding rubbish, operating industrial cleaning equipment, and occasionally supporting the Chef on Duty.

Responsibilities

• Rinse, clean, organize, stock, and maintain pots, pans, silverware, dishware, and glassware to support daily operations and business volumes.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and enforce compliance with all company policies, procedures, and local, state, and federal laws.
• Follow checklists and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area.
• Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings.
• Operate industrial cleaning machines.
• Dispose of rubbish, mop areas, and organize dirty/clean dishware, glassware, and silverware.
• Limit breakage, practice proper handling, and prevent loss of inventory.
• Be flexible to perform any duties or tasks as assigned.
• Collaborate with other stations when requested or needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1+ years of consistent work experience.
• Ability to focus, organize, and prioritize in fast-paced and demanding environments.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining company standards.
• Ability to react quickly to unusual scenarios.
• Open and flexible availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Positive and influential team member.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
• Ability to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
• Fast-paced movements required to navigate different parts of the club.
• Ability to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
• Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch, and climb as required.
