Responsibilities

• Operate all store equipment.
• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
• Prepare product and take inventory, completing associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and facility daily, ensuring kitchen areas and equipment are sanitized, including garbage removal.
• Assist with dining room service when needed (e.g., readying customer orders).
• Process orders both over the phone and in person.
• Perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) quickly and accurately.
• Prepare food items as requested and maintain temperature, sanitation, and cleaning logs.
• Set up and run dishwashing operations, keeping the dishwasher clean and free of debris.
• Ensure hand sinks are clean and stocked (e.g., replace paper towels, hand soap).

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Basic verbal, writing, and communication skills to comprehend and give instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers.
• Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements (e.g., food preparation).
• Ability to work in varying temperatures (36°F in cooler to 90°F+ in work areas).
• Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces (up to 500°F+), and moving mechanical parts.
• Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, handle stress, and make judgments.

Skills

• Basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Verbal and written communication.
• Hand-eye coordination for tasks like shaping dough, using pizza peels, and assembling boxes.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk short distances, and perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling trays, climbing, bending, reaching).

Physical Requirements

• Standing: Most tasks performed while standing on ceramic tile or linoleum.
• Walking: Short distances for short durations.
• Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk or table.
• Lifting: Cases of ingredients/supplies up to 50 lbs, lifted from floor to shelves up to 72" high.
• Carrying: 3-lb cans, 30-lb pizza sauce, or trays of dough (12 lbs per tray).
• Pushing/Pulling: Trays on dollies (up to 7.5 lbs of force).
• Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders for maintenance or sign changes.
• Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at pizza assembly station or front counter; repeated throughout the day.
• Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
• Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like turning oven controls, stocking ingredients, or answering phones.
• Hand Tasks: Frequent use of hands for shaping dough, using pizza peels, assembling boxes, and operating tools (pizza cutter, phones, calculators).

Work Conditions

• Exposure to varying/adverse weather when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
• In-store temperatures range from 36°F in cooler to 90°F+ in work areas.
• Fumes from food odors and exposure to cornmeal dust.
• Cramped quarters, hot surfaces (up to 500°F+), and sharp/moving mechanical parts.
• Sensory requirements: talking/hearing on the phone, near/mid-range vision, depth perception, and ability to differentiate hot/cold surfaces.
