Pay

$16 per hour

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and orderly dishwashing area, ensuring food safety and sanitation
• Scrape food from dirty dishes and wash dishes, glasses, pots, pans, and other kitchen items by hand or using a dishwashing machine
• Return clean dishes and equipment to assigned storage areas
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors; clean worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks according to sanitation standards
• Dispose of garbage in designated containers and clean garbage cans
• Sort bottles and operate bottle crushing machine
• Transfer dishes and equipment between work and storage areas
• Assist with washing and peeling vegetables, setting up banquet tables, loading/unloading supplies and food, and supporting kitchen/banquet staff as needed
• Report unsafe situations, equipment problems, and accidents to the Food & Beverage Supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• One to three months of related experience preferred
• Current Food Handlers Card
• Ability to communicate positively and effectively with team members and supervisors
• Desire to maintain a productive work environment with a good attitude toward coworkers and the public
• Self-motivated, able to follow direction, and work independently with minimal supervision
• Consistently achieve high work standards (attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness)
• Demonstrate initiative and make independent decisions based on sound judgment

Work Environment

This position operates in a kitchen environment, routinely using sinks, dishwashers, and tools to clean dishes and kitchen appliances. Employees are frequently exposed to hot water, slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to hear, see, speak clearly, and understand others in noisy environments
• Very active role requiring standing and walking for most of a work shift
• Ability to lift, balance, carry, push, pull, bend, kneel, twist, and reach
• Frequently lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
• Frequent hand washing required
• Ability to navigate busy work areas
