The Dishwasher will handle basic food preparation, washing dishes, pots and pans, equipment cleaning, and kitchen sanitation in accordance with Traditions, Inc. and Health Department regulations.

Responsibilities

• Receives and collects soiled dishes; washes dishes according to sanitary guidelines and rules
• Cleans equipment as assigned by chef or cook
• Helps with basic food preparation under direction of chef or cook as directed, in compliance with safe food handling
• Maintains dishwashing areas and dishware storage areas in clean condition at all times in accordance with rules and regulations and as directed by chef
• Cleans workspaces, cooking and serving equipment, trays, and dishes according to department procedures
• Loads and unloads the dishwasher; stores clean equipment and dishes in designated areas
• Uses food supplies and equipment in an efficient manner to prevent waste
• Uses food preparation equipment properly and follows proper cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance schedules
• Communicates with Chef or Cook throughout the shift as needed to best meet needs of the residents
• Attends in-service education as assigned and applies information to job tasks
• Complies with the Community's Confidentiality and Privacy practices and procedures related to resident and employee records and all state/federal privacy laws
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Proven experience as a dishwasher
• Further experience in customer service will be appreciated
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
• Friendly with good communication skills
• Good physical condition and stamina
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food services is a plus
• Must provide a criminal background check
