The Dishwasher-Utility is an entry-level position at UMOM New Day Centers, a leading provider of services for families experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. UMOM was founded in 1964 and aims to end family homelessness by restoring hope and rebuilding lives. Responsibilities

• Loads, runs, and unloads dish machine.
• Keeps the dish machine clean and reports any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
• Maintains dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
• Washes and stores all kitchenware in accordance with food safety standards.
• Maintains, cleans, and organizes the washer and dryer.
• Washes trash cans inside and out.
• Bags and hauls dish room trash and boxes to dumpster at designed times.
• Cleans and sanitizes utility carts.
• Maintains adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
• Cleans and organizes the employee area.
• Sweeps and mops the back breeze way.
• Flattens boxes and takes them to the recycle bins.
• Degreases, washes, and polishes all stainless steel as needed.
• Washes, dries towels and mop heads.
• Cleans mop buckets as needed.
• Sanitizes all hand washing sinks daily.
• Cleans all drains as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Leadership.

Qualifications and Competencies

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Six months dishwashing experience preferred.
• Current Maricopa Food Handler's card or ability to obtain one.
• Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to clear the Central Registry Screening from the Department of Child Safety & Adult Protective Services.
• Ability to comply with and pass all required background check and drug screening requirements, including but not limited to pre-employment and random drug screening as required/requested.
• This position is classified as a safety sensitive position.
