About the role

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Dishwasher to support kitchen and dining operations at Meridians Restaurant within Sun City Lincoln Hills Community Association. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, safety conscious, and able to work efficiently in a fast paced setting while supporting the culinary team as needed.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize all kitchen wares, including dishes, utensils, and cookware, using dishwashing machines and three compartment sink systems
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals, maintain dish machine temperature logs, drain and change machine water as needed
• Ensure all cleaned items are properly stored and organized
• Scrub pots and pans and maintain cleanliness of kitchen work areas
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors (A.M. shift) or scrub and squeegee floors (P.M. shift)
• Clean back dock and delivery areas and respond immediately to spills
• Collect trash, reline garbage cans, break down boxes, and use compactors properly
• Inspect trash to ensure kitchenware is not accidentally discarded
• Assist with food preparation, putting away deliveries, and cleaning coolers, freezers, and storerooms
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Chef
• Adhere to all state and local health, safety, and sanitation regulations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be 18+ years old
• Ability to read, write, and speak English

Qualifications

• Food Handler’s Card (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
• CPR / AED / First Aid certification

Skills

• Minimum six months of related experience or willingness and aptitude to train
• Knowledge of proper dishwashing, cleaning, and storage procedures
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 60 pounds. Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving throughout the workday is required. The employee must be able to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and work both indoors in climate controlled areas and outdoors in varying weather and lighting conditions.

Work Environment

The Dishwasher works in a fast paced kitchen environment with frequent interruptions, multitasking, and exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, temperature changes, and wet or slippery surfaces. The role requires consistent alertness, strong attention to safety, and the ability to remain professional and effective during high pressure or stressful situations.
