Dishwasher Job Purpose

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation for plateware, glassware, flatware, cooking utensils, and all smallwares by using the dish machine and/or manual cleaning methods. Maintains the dish machine and area and ensures it is clean, safe, and sanitary.

Responsibilities

• Washes plateware, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans by dish machine or by hand
• Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the dishware
• Replaces all clean plateware, glassware, flatware, and smallwares in the appropriate area
• Details floors, garbage cans, walls, and coolers
• Removes trash from kitchen and places in dumpsters
• Organize and put away deliveries and supplies
• Affixes to setup and/or break down dish machine and area ensuring the floors remain dry
• Notifies manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
• Follows company cash handling policies and procedures
• Follows all sanitation and safety policies
• Maintains valid state and local food handlers and alcohol certifications when applicable
• Advise Restaurant Manager/General Manager/Regional Director of any non-routine situations

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
• Must keep work areas clean and safe at all times
• Must be respectful of all guests, managers, team members, and vendors

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lb
• Must be capable of constant walking, standing, and repeated stooping
• Must have manual dexterity and be able to reach hands and arms in all directions and be able to perform twisting motions with wrists
• Must have vision abilities that include distance, color, depth, and peripheral

Verbal And Reasoning Requirements

• Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to co-workers and managers
• Must be able to engage in a two-way conversation with the customer on the floor
• Must have the ability to read and/or follow verbal instructions and implement the same
• Must be capable of applying common sense and understanding to carry out oral and/or written instructions
• Must understand and adhere to service standards
