Dishwasher

About the role

The Dishwasher is responsible for performing various kitchen cleaning and storage activities such as dish washing, pot washing, general and equipment cleaning, and storage and rotation of food and supplies. All food handling, storage, and cleaning activities must be performed in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards, and the role requires compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory procedures regarding food storage, cleaning, and preparation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain work areas in a clean and safe manner by keeping the work area free from hazardous objects.
• Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the Dietary Manager.
• Report maintenance issues to the Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with facility protocols.
• Perform kitchen cleaning and storage activities.
• Report all accidents/incidents, including sharps injuries, to your supervisor immediately (such occurrences must be reported on the shift in which they occur; in the absence of a supervisor, notify the charge nurse).
• Follow facility-established safety and infection control practices when performing tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
• Attend all departmental and staff meetings, in-service educational classes, orientation, and on-the-job training programs, as scheduled or called.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
