About the role

The Kitchen Steward at Derby City Gaming & Hotel is responsible for non-cooking activities such as dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and overall kitchen cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cleaning kitchen work areas and food service equipment
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Washing work tables and walls
• Removing trash, cleaning trash cans
• Cleaning fryers and vents
• Stocking and cleanliness of Team Member breakroom
• Auxiliary with stocking of non-alcoholic beverage stations
• Ensuring the safety and security of Team Members

Requirements

• Understanding all kitchen equipment and appliances for maintenance and cleaning purposes
• Basic knowledge of chemical usage and meeting OSHA regulations and health department standards
• Oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high-pressure situations

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent
• One year of food service work experience preferred
• Able to complete any required classes or certifications
• Able to obtain a valid Racing License
