About the role
Patti Finnegan’s Pub & Grille is seeking seasonal full and part-time dishwashers and event utility and setup staff. Located at the Oakland University Golf and Learning Center in Rochester, Michigan, this fast-paced, high-energy environment serves over 800 affiliate members, various departments of Oakland University, and the general public.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the completion of daily & weekly prep and cleaning lists
- Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
- Ensure all food, equipment and other items are stored properly per health department regulations
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by Chef, Sous Chef or other management
- Aid in setting up workstations with equipment for service banquet events
- Set up and move tables and chairs throughout the banquet room
Requirements
- At least one year's experience in dishwashing or event set up
- Team player and able to work unsupervised
- Flexible scheduling including days, evenings, weekends and some public holidays
- Quick and diligent with a willingness to improve on the job
- Follows instructions and health and safety rules in the kitchen
- Function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team
Skills
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Very good communication skills
- Proven experience as Dishwasher or prep cook, but willing to train the right person
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Manual dexterity to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
- Very good physical condition and endurance

Pay
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule
Bi-weekly pay, typical PM shift ends at 10 PM, AM shift starts at 8:00 AM, varies based on events and time of year.
License/Certification
Preferred: ServSafe food handler certificate or equivalent
Work Location
In person at the restaurant
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset
Experience
Restaurant Experience: 1 to 2 years (Preferred)
