- Provide database administration support to include, but not limited to, the following activities:
- Set up security, create tables, indexes, stored procedures, design SQL reports, and create maintenance jobs.
- Optimize databases using best practices.
- Manage Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and 2022 in a Clustered Server environment.
- Create and maintain databases in a Clustered Server environment.
- Apply expert knowledge of data models and their components.
- Design, develop, and maintain data lake, data warehouse, and data mart architectures.
- Apply working knowledge of data flow, entity relationship diagrams, schema architectures, and query languages.
- Mirror database servers, implement log shipping, and ensure database redundancy and high availability.
- Create full backup and recovery capabilities for Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and 2022.
- Facilitate the migration of systems into cloud infrastructure.
- Upgrade SQL Servers from lower versions to the latest version (version 2019 and up).
- Create reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Setup a reporting server and manage all DBA functions and report development utilizing Software Systems development Architecture and Design.

About the role
CGS is seeking a Discovery Database Administrator to join a fast-paced and hard-working team to assist with any legal accounts. The role involves providing database administration support, managing Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and 2022, and other related tasks.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting various aspects of the company's portfolio.
- Assisting in managing Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and 2022.
- Creating and maintaining databases in a Clustered Server environment.
- Applying best practices for optimizing databases.
- Managing data lake, data warehouse, and data mart architectures.
- Mirroring database servers, implementing log shipping, and ensuring database redundancy and high availability.
- Upgrading SQL Servers from lower versions to the latest version (version 2019 and up).
- Setting up a reporting server and managing all DBA functions and report development.
Requirements
Must have:
- Expert knowledge of data models and their components.
- Working knowledge of data flow, entity relationship diagrams, schema architectures, and query languages.
- Experience with data lake, data warehouse, and data mart architectures.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and 2022.
- Experience with data mirroring, log shipping, and database redundancy and high availability.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure migration.
- Experience with upgrading SQL Servers from lower versions to the latest version (version 2019 and up).
- Experience with creating reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Experience with setting up and managing a reporting server.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration and management.
- Skills: Strong understanding of SQL, database design, and data modeling.
- Other: Familiarity with data warehousing, data analytics, and cloud technologies.
