Discipleship Pastor
Qualifications
The Discipleship Pastor must reflect a healthy relationship with Jesus Christ, his own family, and the Body of Christ. He also must be a God-called and ordained pastor with the appropriate heart and gifting for church ministry. The Discipleship Pastor must have a suitable mix of education and experience to be qualified for the responsibilities. A general guide for experience would be 5 years of ministerial experience preferably in a church setting. A master’s degree from an accredited seminary would be the preferred level of education for this position. However, candidates may be considered who are working toward seminary education.

- Demonstrated ability and desire for leadership in a team environment
- High level of skill in communication and organization
- Ability to preach, teach, administrate, care, and lead well
- Substantial level of demonstrated skill with regard to age-appropriate group ministry in a church setting
- Different skill set than leading one age-appropriate area within a discipleship ministry
- Possession of a substantial level of demonstrated skill with regard to age-appropriate group ministry in a church setting
- Experience with both PC and Apple systems
- Knowledge of Planning Center and Pro-Presenter
Responsibilities
The Discipleship Pastor serves as part of the pastoral leadership team alongside the Lead Pastor and Worship Pastor and shares in all aspects of care and leadership of the congregation. He is responsible for the leadership of all discipleship ministries of the church. This includes but may not be limited to the areas of adults, college age, students, children, and preschool. The Discipleship Pastor is responsible for the administration of all aspects of Macedonia’s Community Groups ministry including the leadership & training of officers and teachers, curriculum, and launching of new groups.
