Disability History Curriculum Developer (HVS STAFF ONLY)

Responsibilities

• Determine how existing Emerging America disability history curricula for K through 12 aligns with current NYS teaching standards.
• Craft lesson plans to teach disability history, leaning into the existing Emerging America content and implement lessons in partnership with HVS staff to refine content.
• In the development consider how content and its delivery can be modified for instruction in public school settings.

Qualifications & Education

• Must be currently employed as an HVS certified teacher with a preferred emphasis in social studies and/or disability history and culture.
