About the role
In compliance with applicable laws established by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA/AA), work directly with students with disabilities to facilitate individualized academic accommodation plans and access to educational opportunities. Assist with outreach and awareness of disability at WSU sponsored events. Engage in work at all campus locations and in the community with a sometimes non-standard work schedule requiring adaptability and flexibility. Face-to-face and some virtual, Monday – Friday with occasional evenings and weekend hours. Professional travel (local, regional, or national) on occasion.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate individualized academic accommodation plans for students with disabilities
- Provide access to educational opportunities in compliance with ADA/AA and Section 504
- Assist with outreach and awareness of disability at WSU sponsored events
- Work at all campus locations and in the community with adaptable and flexible scheduling
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (social/behavioral sciences or education preferred)
- Experience working with people with disabilities
- Proficiency in word processing (Word, WordPerfect, and/or Google Docs)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to resolve conflict and manage complex processes with attention to detail
- Experience working with students with disabilities and knowledge of relevant laws and policies
- Experience with judgement, discretion, and maintaining confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills with expertise in planning, implementing, and assessing student programs and services
- Willingness to undergo a background check

Pay
Annual salary starts at $44,000 and may increase based on candidate qualifications.
Schedule
- 40 hours per week
- 12 months per year
- Primarily Monday – Friday with occasional evenings and weekends
- Non-standard work schedule requiring adaptability and flexibility
