About the role
This position requires a team-oriented individual who exercises discretion, independent judgment in decision-making, and is responsible for taking initiative in achieving the goals of the Center for Accessibility & Disability Resources, with a focus on the supplemental services of the Project Success program.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and retain Project Success mentors and CADR student employees
- Orient student employees and mentors, providing training for CADR procedures, office operations, and information confidentiality
- Develop and maintain a Project Success student mentor training system and orientation materials
- Schedule and evaluate staffing needs for student employees and mentors
- Collaborate with the CADR Director and Disability Services Advisors to create and/or update campus support and training resources
- Host workshops, student panels, and attend campus engagement opportunities
- Facilitate prospective student and family meetings and attend on-campus recruitment events to share Project Success information, along with CADR resources
Requirements
- Knowledge of federal regulations related to disability services in higher education, including ADA, Section 504, and FERPA
- Experience coordinating student support services, accommodations, or case management
- Experience recruiting, training, and/or supervising student employees, mentors, or peer educators
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, and uphold student confidentiality and privacy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners
- Ability to assess student needs and connect individuals to appropriate resources and services
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working with students in an educational, advising, or support services setting
- Experience interpreting and applying ADA, Section 504, and related compliance requirements within a college or university setting
- Experience supervising and developing student staff, including training program design and performance evaluation
- Experience utilizing disability services or case management systems (e.g. AIM, Accommodate, or similar) and maintaining detailed case documentation
- Experience assessing program effectiveness, including collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to support continuous improvement
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices, universal design principles, and strategies for supporting individuals with disabilities
- Experience collaborating with campus and local partners to support student transition, recruitment, and success initiatives
