Dirt Operator II

Our jobsite located in Baytown, TX has an opening for a Dirt Operator II. Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering/construction company headquartered in Katy, TX with expertise in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries. OPD is part of Koch Engineered Solutions (KES), which provides capabilities across many industries. Originally incorporated in 1980, OPD has built a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and successful project execution. We offer construction services as well as engineering and procurement, providing clients a "one stop shop" for increased efficiency and reduced interface problems.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Efficiently and safely operate heavy mobile equipment of various sizes and weights associated with open pit mining
• Perform minor service and maintenance on equipment
• Recognize and document potential job hazards in compliance with company policies
• Work as a team to meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals
• Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments
• Work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for at least eight (8) hours
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including safety equipment

Physical Demands

• Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat, humidity, cold, and high elevations
• Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs
• Standing for extended periods up to 11 hours per day (breaks given in 2.5-hour intervals)
• Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools

Requirements

• Six (6) months or more of experience operating one or more of the following in the construction and/or mining field:
  • End dump truck - Caterpillar 770 class or larger
  • Excavator - Caterpillar 325 class or larger
  • Front-end loader - Caterpillar 950 class or larger
  • Dozer - Caterpillar D8 class or larger
  • Wirtgen Surface Miner 2200SM
• Able to work in an industrial environment as described in the position
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to adhere to the safety regulations of the position
• Able to work all shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days a week as required by the project

What Will Put You Ahead

• One (1) year or more of experience working with construction and/or mining equipment
• Currently Part 48 MSHA trained
