About the role

The Director Wound Care Services oversees wound care services across the health system, including inpatient wound therapy services and the outpatient Wound and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) Clinic. This role ensures high-quality, evidence-based wound care delivery, regulatory compliance, financial performance, staff development, and program growth.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures high-quality, evidence-based wound care delivery

  • Facilitates program growth
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for wound care and hyperbaric services
  • Collaborates with physicians, nursing leadership, ancillary departments, and executive leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related healthcare field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Current RN license (or applicable clinical licensure) in the state of Georgia
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in wound care, specialty clinics, or related healthcare services
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing inpatient and/or outpatient clinical operations

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • Wound care certification (WOCN, CWOCN, CWS, or equivalent)
  • Hyperbaric-related certification (e.g., Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse – CHRN, or equivalent) or ability to obtain
  • Prior experience managing or directing a Wound and/or Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy program
  • Strong working knowledge of CMS reimbursement, charge capture, and documentation requirements for wound care and/or HBO services

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of wound care and hyperbaric medicine clinical standards and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex operations
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting, productivity management, and performance improvement
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational leadership

Working Conditions

  • Splits work time between an acute care hospital setting and clinic setting, working predominately daytime, weekday hours but may occasionally require long, irregular or flexible work hours for patient rounds, staff rounds, and support of departments
  • Considerable sitting, standing, stooping, bending, lifting (occasionally in excess of fifty (50) lbs.), pushing objects (e.g., carts, beds)
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids, including infectious diseases
  • Mental effort to assess, plan and make or recommend decisions in complex environment
