Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, controls, and evaluates department budgets and productivity.
  • Completes departmental training, education, and development.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates succession plans, competency based performance evaluation systems and parallel development programs in contribution to associate development and organizational growth.
  • Promotes evidence-based practice, and excellence in patient care, patient safety and patient experience.
  • Responsible for departmental staff engagement and develops plans to ensure positive staff and provider engagement.
  • Affirms, measures, and continuously improves the employee engagement experience.
  • Reports any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
  • Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
  • Ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
  • Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
  • Maintains quality and safety indicators.
  • Ensures department and staff are consistently prepared for site/unit visits – (i.e.: TJC, ADHS, internal audits, hazardous surveillance rounds).
  • Maintains high patient experience scores.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing- Required Master's Degree- Required
  • Certification & Licensures: Active, unrestricted, Arizona RN License or valid, participating compact license- Required BLS (American Heart Association),- Required Approved Specialty Certification Or Nurse Executive Advance- Preferred Certification for area of responsibility per organizational policy, or leadership certification from AONE or ANCC- Preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years management experience in acute healthcare setting- Required Minimum 5 Years Clinical Experience- Required
