Job Summary

The Director of Warehouse & Inventory Control will lead all warehouse operations, inventory control, and distribution at Hard Rock Las Vegas, a luxury resort on the Las Vegas Strip. Reporting to the SVP of Finance, this role ensures efficient receipt, storage, distribution, tracking, and reconciliation of goods while maintaining strong internal controls, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for all warehouse, receiving, distribution, storeroom, and inventory control operations.
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies aligned with operational and financial objectives.
  • Establish departmental goals, performance metrics, staffing plans, and operational standards.
  • Build a culture focused on accountability, service excellence, inventory integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, training, coaching, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Direct all property warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, material handling, distribution, and inventory replenishment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of products and supplies to operational departments.
  • Develop warehouse processes that maximize efficiency, productivity, and service levels.
  • Maintain accountability for inventory accuracy across all warehouses, storerooms, and inventory locations.
  • Oversee perpetual inventory systems, cycle counts, and physical inventory programs.
  • Direct inventory reconciliation processes and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Partner with Finance and Purchasing to ensure accurate inventory valuation and reporting.
  • Analyze inventory performance metrics, usage trends, shrinkage, variances, and carrying costs.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end inventory reporting and audit activities.
  • Develop controls that minimize waste, obsolescence, spoilage, theft, and loss.
  • Oversee all receiving operations to ensure proper verification of quantities, quality, pricing, and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain inventory-related policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, accounting requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Support internal and external audits involving inventory and warehouse operations.
  • Partner with Security and Risk Management on inventory protection initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, safety, sanitation, and environmental requirements.
  • Oversee inventory management software and warehouse management systems.
  • Develop operational dashboards and inventory performance reporting.
  • Provide operational and financial reporting for executive leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, and improve warehouse and inventory processes.
  • Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies as needed.
  • Drive initiatives that improve productivity while reducing operating costs.
  • Benchmark inventory and warehouse practices against industry best practices.
  • Lead special projects and operational improvement initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Hospitality Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, purchasing support, or supply chain functions.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing warehouse, inventory control, or distribution teams.
  • Experience overseeing inventory management systems, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, inventory accounting, and cost management principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting tools.
  • Integrated resort, casino, hotel, or large hospitality experience.
  • Multi-site warehouse or distribution experience.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or related certification.
  • Experience with ERP, purchasing, and inventory management systems.
  • Previous property opening or large-scale operational startup experience.
