Key Responsibilities
- Lead the oversight and optimization of custody and trust account operations.
- Manage daily liquidity activities and cash forecasting to ensure efficient capital deployment and funding availability.
- Oversee collateral and margin monitoring, settlements, and related treasury operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banking partners, custodians, trustees, and other financial counterparties.
- Support treasury technology initiatives, including implementation and enhancement of treasury management systems.
- Monitor and manage FHLB membership, collateral pledging, borrowing capacity, and funding structures.
- Assist with reporting and presentations for senior leadership, board committees, rating agencies, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Evaluate and implement treasury process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controls.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain a robust internal control environment.
- Partner cross-functionally on strategic initiatives involving investments, liquidity, capital management, and operational scalability.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of treasury experience with direct exposure to custody and trust account management.
- Strong understanding of insurance company liquidity operations, custody banking, trust structures, investment operations, and asset servicing.
- Experience working with derivatives, collateral management, and complex investment assets.
- Proven success managing relationships with custodians, trustees, banking institutions, and external service providers.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to manage complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Preferred qualifications: CPA, CFA, and/or MBA; Prior experience within a life insurance or annuity organization; Treasury management system implementation or optimization experience.
