About the Role
Climate First Bank is seeking an experienced Director of Deposit and Treasury Operations to serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for the Bank's Deposit Operations and Treasury Management Operations. This individual will partner closely with senior leadership to ensure the bank’s operations departments support growth, risk management, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations for all deposit operations functions, including deposit account onboarding and maintenance, wires, debit card operations, ACH, check processing and returns, and online banking.
- Lead the Treasury Management team and maintain responsibility for commercial treasury management operations.
- Plan operational improvements, resolve operational problems, and take corrective action to ensure effective operations.
- Determine staffing requirements; oversee selection, development, and management of staff; direct training and development to ensure operational depth.
- Assist in the development of the department budget, monitor expenditures, and explain variances.
- Develop and maintain all department policies and procedures; ensure compliance with control standards and adjust or implement additional controls as needed.
- Coordinate department preparation and responses to internal and external audits and exams.
- Manage responsibilities related to conversions, project plans, product enhancements, process integration, and disaster recovery plans.
- Coordinate with other departments on the implementation of new products and services.
- Remain knowledgeable of banking industry trends to assist in assessing needs and opportunities for service enhancements or new products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; equivalent banking experience may be considered.
- 10+ years of prior banking experience required.
- Minimum of three years of management experience.
- Experience leading diverse teams from entry-level to middle manager.
- Sound knowledge of financial products and services, banking regulations, and laws.
- Strong accounting and math skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with frequent routine changes.
- Highly organized self-starter with impeccable attention to detail and ability to work with little oversight.
- Effective communicator with strong active listening, writing, and speaking skills; ability to compose professional correspondence.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other department software.
Qualifications & Experience
- Required:
- Strong understanding of deposit operations, loan operations, general ledger, treasury management, digital banking, and banking compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with senior leadership, business users, technical teams, auditors, and vendors.
- Preferred:
- Jack Henry SilverLake experience.
- Experience with Jack Henry applications such as Enterprise Workflow, Cognos, Xperience, Banno, Treasury Management, DirectLine, PayCenter/FedNow, or related solutions.
