Director Therapy Services

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care when needed, including evaluation and consultations.
• Plans therapy programs, establishes treatment goals and administers treatment to restore body functions and strength, relieve pain and prevent disability through the use of various procedures.
• Confers with medical providers regarding patient tests and treatments, including patient evaluations and therapy programs.
• Spearheads new treatment approaches and develops structure of new programs.
• Develops active learning experiences within Therapy department.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of developments in therapy field.
• Maintains therapy equipment, apparatus and work area to ensure proper working conditions; oversees preventative maintenance and arranges necessary repair services.
• Recommends items for purchase.
• Covers services, procedures and daily operations for the facility.
• Maintains regular contact with referring medical personnel, including physicians, rehabilitation nurses, social workers, etc.
• Promotes effective and harmonious interaction with medical personnel.
• Evaluates and resolves operational problems including staff and patients' complaints in concert with departmental supervisors.
• Affords appropriate referral procedures for therapy patients.
• Develops strategy for meeting production goals.
• Aids in updating all applicable department policy and procedure manuals.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in PT or OT.
• Licensure/Certification: NC license or board eligibility in North Carolina.
• Experience: Five (5) years clinical experience in OT or PT, Two (2) years management/supervisory experience.
