Responsibilities
- Oversight of timely preparation of tax-exempt returns (Forms 990, 990-T, 4720, 1120, and 1065) and other required tax documents.
- Conducting research on basic and complex tax issues and providing documentation and support for conclusions.
- Providing guidance to Payroll and Accounts Payable in relation to Forms W-2 and 1099.
- Offering tax-related guidance to senior management and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business strategies and objectives.
- Serving as a key point of contact for tax-related inquiries and information sharing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Cooking and managing tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, working closely with external advisors as needed.
- Assessing and mitigating tax risks associated with business operations, transactions, and regulatory changes.
- Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Analyzing nexus requirements.
- Performing ASC 740 analysis for annual audit.
- Acting as key tax lead for tax-exempt bond offerings.
- Developing and implementing tax strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives to optimize tax efficiency and minimize risk.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Masters or JD in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
- 5 years prior public accounting experience in tax exempt (990) return preparation.
- Other tax exempt bond experience preferred.
- Other healthcare accounting/audit/tax experience preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification preferred.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification preferred.
