Description
The Director Surgical Services at Trinity Health Ann Arbor, Livingston, and Canton oversees the organizational and financial management of surgical services across multiple locations. This role involves leading a team of approximately 39 operating rooms and 5 pre-op and recovery rooms, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective care.
Required Education / Licensure
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
- A Master's degree in Business, Nursing, or another relevant field is preferred.
- A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan is required.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Collaborates with system administration and medical staff to assess community needs and develop strategic plans impacting patient care services.
- Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates systems and resources to support 24-hour patient care delivery.
- Facilitates leadership staffing plans to ensure quality care during all hours of operation, meeting age-specific, cultural, spiritual, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Maintains leadership team development by interviewing, hiring, and evaluating team members, providing mentorship, coaching, and guidance.
- Develops and implements strategies to meet fiscal and volume targets, forecasts, and analyzes operational and capital budgets, prioritizes and purchases capital equipment based on strategic plans, and reviews cost per case data to identify cost savings.
- Works collaboratively with VP, Surgical Services to meet regulatory, legal, professional, and quality standards.
- Negotiates and reviews contracts for new technology and implants in collaboration with supply chain staff for the surgery cluster.
- Interprets, presents, and provides leadership staff and surgery cluster staff with information on new programs, changes in healthcare industry environment, policies, and procedures, and financial performance to ensure informed and knowledgeable staff.
- Maintains personal strategies to remain flexible and open during the ever-changing healthcare environment.
