About the role
The Director of Surgical Quality, Safety & Outcomes serves as the central operational administrator responsible for sustaining the infrastructure, workflows, analytics, and committee operations that support the Department of Surgery Quality, Safety & Outcomes Program.
Responsibilities
- Operates under the administrative direction of the Vice President of Performance Excellence with a dotted-line relationship to the Chief of Surgery.
- Coincides the day-to-day execution of quality governance activities, benchmarking infrastructure, case review workflows, quality improvement initiatives, and multidisciplinary safety programs across the Department of Surgery.
- Includes regional work to grow the transplant program.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
- Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or related field Preferred
- Experience: 5 years experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, surgical services, or program management Required
- Previous experience with surgical quality registries (NSQIP, STS, MBSAQIP, SVS, ABA) Preferred
- Previous experience within an academic medical center or complex hospital system Preferred
- Familiarity With RCA Methodology Preferred
