Director, Strategy — Software, Services, and Solutions

About the role

The opportunity involves defining and executing strategies to win in the software, services and solutions space with HP's trusted brand, reach and routes-to-market, and the breadth and completeness of HP's overall portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Develop multi-year trends and market conditions that inform portfolio strategy and investments to drive HP’s software portfolio growth, solutions maturity, and services simplification and profitable growth.
  • Support design and development of full-featured industrial solutions for key verticals such as retail, manufacturing, healthcare leveraging the full HP portfolio.
  • Rationalize services and transition to a modular portfolio that enables the indirect channel and simplifies the GTM motion for the direct sales team.
  • Track the overall services landscape to identify role of AI services in key verticals and overall AI enablement at customers across segments (tier-1, mid-market, and SMB).
  • Identify customer pain-points and use cases to derive demand and market segmentation, TAM/SAM/SOM, and align customer value propositions across the services and software portfolio.
  • Evaluate the core-to-edge architecture AI strategies being deployed: data center training + edge inference and required software components to bring solutions to life.
  • Work with software and solutions strategy, product, and GTM teams to develop vertical solutions that drive customer value proposition leveraging HP’s full portfolio of devices, software and services.
  • Lead key strategic initiatives for the HP leadership team and Board of Directors in and adjacent to AI hardware, AI platforms, peripherals, video conferencing, and industrial solutions in key verticals.
  • Define and track KPIs such as, revenue, GM%, share, pipeline, win rates, attach, partner adoption, deployment velocity, etc.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing cross-functional team; influence senior leaders with crisp, data-driven storytelling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 10-12 years of total experience in the high-tech industry, product management, corporate strategy, management consulting, investment banking, or a related field, preferably within a Fortune 500 environment.
  • SaaS experience required.
  • Strategic Mindset: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute scalable GTM strategies that drive revenue growth and customer retention.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, strategy frameworks, and project management tools.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in market analysis, customer segmentation, and channel strategy development.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, with expertise in influencing and inspiring stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to drive collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

Pay

The pay range for this role is $166,050 to $265,700 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
