Reporting to the Head of Rare Disease Access Strategy within US Market Access & Reimbursement, this role leads the Rare Disease Market Access Strategy team, focusing on developing and executing market access strategies for SMA and ALS to optimize patient access through strategic pricing and innovative contracting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive market access strategies to support the SMA and ALS brands across commercial and government payer segments.
- Lead cross-functional planning and execution across all Market Access & Reimbursement (MA&R) functions to ensure alignment with approved strategies.
- Ensure coordination and alignment with the Rare Disease Franchise on overall strategy and messaging.
- Deliver impactful value propositions and promotional materials tailored to key customer segments.
- Champion pull-through activities to ensure access optimization.
- Partner with Medical, HEOR, and Global V&A to support evidence generation for access strategy.
- Define and drive the contracting strategy in collaboration with Brand, legal, and finance teams.
- Develop pricing and innovative contracting strategies, including value-based contracts.
- Work with cross-functional teams to model scenario-based business cases for contracting recommendations.
- Research and analyze market landscape data/trends to develop customized solutions for patient access.
- Support development of Free Drug and co-pay support strategies.
- Execute and support training of MA&R RADs and NADs in alignment with approved strategies.
- Lead initiatives to evaluate MA&R performance in support of the Rare Disease Franchise.
- Lead and support multiple cross-functional teams in various projects as a market access expert.
- Support pipeline activities, including Biogen’s pipeline assets for the SMA and ALS populations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in U.S. market access, payer marketing, pricing, or related fields within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to develop payer messaging and contracting strategy.
- Knowledge of standard payer research methodologies, financial analyses, and gross-to-net dynamics.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Pay
The base compensation range for this role is $200,000–$275,000. Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors, including relevant skills and experience, job location, and internal equity. Regular employees are eligible to receive both short-term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities.
