About the Role

Provides leadership, guidance, direction, and accountability for advancing people, processes, programs, and functional responsibilities within an area or scope of assignment. Focuses on performance, regulatory readiness, and operational results of large, strategic, or diverse disciplines, cross-functional teams, or departments/services over a large functional domain or multiple domains (e.g., regions, service areas, or Regional Health Ministries).

Responsibilities

  • Provides advice, guidance, and leadership to RHM and Market/Ministry leaders in developing strategies and achieving performance goals.
  • Enables collaboration across and within System Services, Service Areas, RHM, and Regions to ensure consistency and integration of strategy and operations.
  • Guides, trains, mentors, and monitors colleagues while contributing to the development and implementation of RHM, Regional, Service Area, and System Office-based strategic plans.
  • Provides advice, guidance, and leadership for merger and acquisition (M&A) and other growth opportunities.
  • Leads standardization, systemness, and optimization of policy, process, methodology, and establishing a national community of practice.
  • Oversees vendor and contract labor management, including centralizing strategy and optimizing spend.
  • Collaborates in system-wide strategy development and deployment of functional area priorities and initiatives.
  • Supports regional efforts to comply with functional area priorities and ensures accountability for the selection, evaluation, and success of functional leadership teams.
  • Serves as an organization-wide focal point for establishing functional strategies and governance over financials and staffing.
  • Ensures communication between System Services, Service Area function, RHM, and Market leaders.
  • Measures and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and value delivery.
  • Implements and drives financial and operational strategies for the assigned function or service area.
  • Provides advice, guidance, and leadership for the colleague life cycle.
  • Maintains working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, and other policies to ensure adherence.
  • Contributes to strategic planning and enables system and region-level strategy to address business and regulatory issues.
  • Identifies, defines, and solves complex problems impacting management and direction of the business.
  • Collaborates with Service Area, Regions, and Health Ministries to ensure consistency and integration of strategy and operations.
  • Provides decision support, operations, or optimization leadership with responsibility for decisions impacting day-to-day operations and managing risk.
  • Oversees a direct staff that includes managers with direct reports or large/complex programs with or without direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field.
  • Seven years of experience in healthcare, with at least five years in business development and operations, sales, finance, or business consulting with progressively increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Valid driver’s license where required by assignment.
  • Ability to travel within the area of assignment (estimated 75% regionally/locally).

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Clinical experience.
  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or Healthcare Administration (MHA) from an accredited school; equivalent experience considered.
