About the role
Reporting to the VP Finance, the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will be a critical leader within our finance team and a key business partner for leadership, our program teams, and for all functional areas within the Company.
Responsibilities
- Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts and long-range plans that align with company strategy.
- Assist the business with alignment on planning guidance and drive trade-off decisions during the budget creation process.
- Manage program budgets, scenario plans, and allocate program resources.
- Provide quarterly variance analysis of actuals to forecast/budget, explain and investigate any significant discrepancies, and understand key business drivers.
- Create financial models and provide support and analysis for strategic initiatives.
- Administer Rapport's financial planning tool, Adaptive Insights.
- Define and implement policies, procedures, and systems to improve the FP&A function.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field; MBA highly preferred.
- 12+ years experience in financial planning and analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of budgeting processes specific to the biotech industry, including R&D forecasting and clinical trial budgeting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting, and experience with public company compliance.
Qualifications
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with Adaptive Insights or other financial planning software preferred; NetSuite and Coupa experience also highly valued.
- Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to navigate in a high growth environment.
