Key Responsibilities
- Translate Financial Results into Insightful Narratives
- Analyze and synthesize complex financial results into clear, concise, and actionable insights for executive leadership.
- Communicate key drivers of performance in a way that is accessible to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Drive Product-Level Profitability Analysis
- Develop a deep understanding of profitability across products, channels, and segments.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance and strategic positioning.
- Lead Strategic Financial Analysis & Decision Support
- Partner with senior management to provide forward-looking analysis that supports strategic planning, business initiatives, and long-term value creation.
- Influence decisions through data-driven insights and thoughtful financial perspectives.
- Enhance Forecasting & Performance Management
- Support the development of advanced forecasting capabilities, including improved statutory forecasting and variance analysis.
- Continuously refine methodologies to increase accuracy and business relevance.
- Own Financial Reporting & Variance Analysis
- Oversee the preparation, analysis, and presentation of quarterly statutory results.
- Deliver meaningful variance analysis (actual vs. expected) that highlights key business drivers and informs leadership actions.
- Build Analytical Tools & Data Infrastructure
- Lead the development of scalable analytical tools, dashboards, and databases that enable deeper insights and more efficient reporting.
- Promote a data-driven culture across the organization.
- Lead and Influence Across the Organization
- Serve as a thought leader within FP&A, leading the team and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Drive alignment around key financial insights and strategic priorities.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in financial services
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Significant experience within Life Insurance & Annuities industry required
- Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights and recommendations
- Strong understanding of financial statements, with the ability to analyze performance at a detailed/product level
- Experience influencing senior leaders and contributing to strategic decision-making
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel and data tools
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complexity
- CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred
