About the role

The Director of Software Engineering for the Shared Services Engineering – Authorization team at Fidelity will lead the modernization of the authorization platform into cloud-native solutions. This role involves ensuring Tier-0 reliability and 24x7 availability while collaborating with product and platform partners. The team focuses on building secure and scalable authorization capabilities that support Fidelity's Brokerage Recordkeeping Technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead the modernization of authorization components from legacy mainframe implementations to cloud-native architectures.
• Ensure operational excellence and maintain continuous availability of mission-critical systems.
• Align engineering efforts with business priorities and collaborate across product, infrastructure, and security teams.
• Drive architectural decisions that enhance the security posture and operational scalability of enterprise platforms.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across globally distributed teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree with 12 years of experience in software and cloud infrastructure engineering.
• Experience handling incident management and problem management of Tier 0 platforms.
• Proven expertise leveraging AWS cloud services to architect and deliver production-grade, cloud-native systems.
• Experience directing technical teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Preferred experience in retail financial markets or another highly regulated industry.
