Our client, an established biotechnology company, is seeking a Director/Senior Director of Human Resources to serve as a strategic partner to the business and help shape a high-performing, people-first culture.
About the role
This individual will work closely with senior leadership and managers to drive key HR initiatives across performance management, employee relations, talent development, organizational effectiveness, and people strategy. The ideal candidate brings deep experience within publicly traded biotechnology organizations, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a proven ability to build trust, influence leaders, and foster an engaging company culture.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to develop and execute people strategies that align with organizational objectives.
- Champion and strengthen the company’s culture by driving employee engagement, inclusion, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
- Lead the performance management process, providing guidance to managers on goal setting, performance reviews, coaching, and employee development.
- Partner with managers on performance improvement plans, employee relations matters, and complex people-related situations.
- Coach and advise leaders on talent management, organizational design, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Drive initiatives that support employee growth, retention, and career development.
- Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning and organizational change management efforts.
- Ensure HR programs, policies, and practices are compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Partner cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and HR Operations to deliver a seamless employee experience.
- Analyze people metrics and trends to provide recommendations that support business decisions and improve organizational performance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders while balancing business priorities with employee needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience at the Director or Senior HR Business Partner level.
- Significant HR experience within a publicly traded biotechnology or life sciences organization.
- Demonstrated success building and sustaining a positive, high-performing organizational culture.
- Strong expertise in performance management, employee relations, leadership coaching, and talent development.
- Proven ability to partner effectively with managers and senior executives on complex people matters.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance high-level planning and hands-on execution.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing multiple priorities.
Pay
$200-300k+
