PURPOSE

The Director of Sales leads and develops a sales team responsible for managing a broad portfolio of customer call points. This role drives performance and growth through strategic leadership, coaching, and disciplined execution across the team.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the sales team by coaching, setting clear expectations, and driving accountability for sales performance.
  • Translate company growth priorities into sales strategy, ensuring consistent execution across a broad and complex set of customer call points managed by the team.
  • Oversee territory coverage and resource allocation to maximize productivity, customer impact, and market opportunity.
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, align priorities, strengthen customer strategies, and remove barriers to execution.
  • Engage with members of credit policy and pricing and customer solutions desk when necessary, balancing customer needs with MGIC priorities.
  • Have a strong command of MGIC business priorities, including internal and external goals and engagements.
  • Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement through data, insights, and disciplined sales processes that elevate team effectiveness.
  • Lead through the team rather than owning individual accounts, providing strategic direction, coaching, and support to ensure strong customer outcomes across the team’s portfolio.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Experience/Background

  • A minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • Proven ability to lead through others and deliver sustained revenue growth by developing high performance sales teams.
  • Demonstrated success shaping sales strategy and driving operational execution across complex customer environments and multiple call points.
  • Strong execution presence and influence, with a track record of building trusted relationships with senior internal stakeholders and key external decision-makers.
  • Deep business acumen and understanding of residential mortgage lending and mortgage insurance products, services, and customers.
  • Track record of developing talent, mentoring leaders, and building strong, accountable sales cultures.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively influence and engage executive leadership, customers, and cross-functional partners.

Pay Range

$189,770.00 - $351,080.00

This range aligns with current market data and reflects our commitment to competitive and equitable compensation. Salary offers are based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and training. The range may vary in certain locations to reflect local market conditions. It is not typical to initiate pay at the top of the range to account for internal equity and allow for future and continued salary growth.
