Director, Remote Operations Control Center
About the role
The Director, Remote Operations Control Center (ROCC) collaboratively guides the overall strategic direction and daily operations of the ROCC. They support the development of the site and steward industrial assets in safety, risk management, and reliability to support customer satisfaction and profitability. They also act as a change management champion as the organization shifts from local to remote operations.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all applicable safety standards and support process safety in all remote operations.
- Support the strategic vision of the ROCC, aligning with overall company objectives.
- Guide, mentor, and coach the ROCC team, developing not only managers but also individual contributors.
- Support the team in positioning them to effectively meet operational needs, both for steady state and start-up operations.
- Collaborate with multiple AMG teams (supply chain, production, process engineers) to enhance the end-to-end supply chain.
- Offer technical and operational guidance into the design of the Q-APC enhancement methodology.
- Support and champion training programs to maintain team competency and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline, or suitable air separation experience accepted in lieu.
- 10+ years industry experience, with 3+ years prior management experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues quickly, manage large quantities of data, and build cost-benefit cases for improvements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface across all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal networking, and facilitation capabilities.
- Ability to travel overnight up to 15%, possess a valid driver's license, and operate a motor vehicle for site visits.
- Capability to visit diverse Airgas and customer locations with varying environments, layouts, and accessibility conditions.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and routinely use a computer and telephone to observe, assess, and manage data.
- Strong capacity to actively listen and exchange information frequently across teams.
