Director, Quant Data Platform
About the role
You will lead the dataset onboarding efforts for the Quantitative Research Platform (QRP) team within Fidelity’s Quantitative Research & Investments (QRI) division. In this role, you will collaborate with technology partners to integrate financial and alternative datasets into QRP, ensuring they meet rigorous standards for quantitative research. You will work closely with researchers to design data consumption patterns and partner with Data Operations to maintain data quality.

Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in asset management or hedge funds, focused on data analysis, delivery, and transformation across asset classes.
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams and coach others while contributing individually.
- Exposure to a wide array of financial and alternative datasets with deep knowledge of consumption patterns.
- Technical proficiency in SQL and Python.
- CFA charter holder or progress toward CFA designation is a strong plus.
Qualifications
- Your expertise spans onboarding and curating both vendor and enterprise datasets, ensuring they meet rigorous standards for performance, usability, and research accuracy.
- Your ability to navigate complex data challenges and communicate effectively with both technical and investment stakeholders.
- A deep understanding of quantitative datasets ranging from traditional financial data such as prices, returns, fundamentals, and corporate actions to alternative datasets like sustainability analytics, supply chain, and credit card data.
- Hands-on experience with major financial data vendors (Bloomberg, S&P, FactSet, Refinitiv, Morningstar, MSCI).
- A strong grasp of point-in-time data modeling, historical reconciliation, and data governance practices.
- Track record includes delivering large-scale data projects on time and at quality, with transparency and collaboration across multiple teams.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $126,000-255,000 USD per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
Schedule
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model: Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
