Director, Data Platform

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Data Platform to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This leader will shape the long-term direction of enterprise data platforms, with a strong focus on scalable architecture, mission-critical systems, and AI-enabled capabilities. The role will partner closely with engineering leaders and executive stakeholders to translate data strategy into practical initiatives that support innovation and business growth. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical leadership experience and the ability to communicate complex platform strategy clearly across the organization.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Pay

$208,761 – $347,935 annually

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the long-term vision for enterprise data platforms and architecture.
• Oversee architecture and design of scalable data platforms for various use cases across the company.
• Communicate data strategies and progress to executive leadership and stakeholders.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and translate them into actionable initiatives for innovation.
• Lead continuous learning and process improvement activities within the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience or comparable depth of experience.
• Experience in a leadership role overseeing technical direction of data platforms and architecture.
• Expert knowledge of software engineering best practices, especially in AI-enabled data platforms.
• Demonstrated success in building mission-critical enterprise-class data platforms.
