About the role

In collaboration with the SVP Chief Quality and Safety Officer and the VP Institute of Patient Centered Excellence, directs, promotes, and participates in the development and implementation of regulatory, accreditation, and quality-assurance requirements throughout The MetroHealth System. Leads the organizational continuous accreditation readiness program and activities. Serves as an organizational resource for accreditation and regulatory requirements for outside agencies including but not limited to The Joint Commission and The Ohio Department of Health. Partners with key stakeholders on quality-improvement projects related to regulatory requirements. Manages assigned personnel. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer-service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and promote regulatory, accreditation, and quality-assurance initiatives across the system.
  • Lead continuous accreditation-readiness programs and activities.
  • Serve as the system-wide resource for accreditation and regulatory requirements from agencies such as The Joint Commission and The Ohio Department of Health.
  • Partner with stakeholders on quality-improvement projects tied to regulatory requirements.
  • Manage assigned staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. In lieu of degree, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience plus the required work experience.
  • Five years of progressive quality-improvement or accreditation experience.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), or Lean Six-Sigma training (or obtained within 18 months of hire).
  • Demonstrated skills in management, organizational planning, communication, presentation, and interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent critical-thinking and analytical aptitude.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Reliable transportation to travel between facilities as necessary.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Current Ohio licensure as a Registered Nurse or other licensed healthcare professional.
  • Management experience in quality and/or accreditation.

Physical Demands

  • Intermittent movement throughout the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking.
  • Extended periods of stillness, both seated and standing.
  • Ability to communicate via face-to-face interactions, phone, email, and other channels.
  • Ability to read job-related documents.
  • Ability to use a computer.
